DuraSeam™ is a revolutionary finishing system developed by Powder Solutions in conjunction with Architectural Concepts that is specifically formulated for doors, base boards, casing and frames. This proprietary finish is available in virtually any color in both a smooth or textured finish and can contain an antimicrobial additive upon request.

DuraSeam was specifically designed for the hospitality industry, particularly for the room entry doors and running baseboards in the corridors. It gives designers, architects and owners one of the most economical, long lasting and color durable quality finishes in the industry. DuraSeam is scratch, stain and dent resistant and can be cleaned with virtually any type of cleaner without damaging the finish. We all know about the maintenance headaches with latex paints that are easily damaged from luggage, belts and maid carts. These types of unwanted damages cost the engineering staff time and money to fix, which unfortunately needs to be done on a regular basis to keep the property looking new.

DuraSeam is an extremely environmentally friendly coating because it contains no heavy metals, lead, solvents, hazardous air pollutants or volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). Recent studies conducted for the Composite Panel Association by Research Scientists and Technologists at Forintex Canada corporation concluded that DuraSeam coated medium density fiberboard (MDF) offered the best overall results for performing as a barrier to VOC’s of finished products.

Architectural Concepts is committed to green building. Through the use of medium density fiberboard (MDF) for our doors and moulding products, you are assured of using a product made from 100% recycled materials. In addition, we can supply MDF with FSC certification containing no added formaldehyde. Up to seven (7) LEED credits are available by specifying Architectural oncepts doors and moulding.
